Posted on March 30th, 2011 by madisonmain

The 2011 CAA Men’s Basketball Championship will certainly be one to remember. Not only did Madison+Main’s marketing efforts help the CAA set attendance records over the course of the four-day championship, but for the first time ever, three CAA schools made the cut for this year’s March Madness. ODU won the Championship, cutting down the nets on Monday night, March 7th, while George Mason University and our beloved Virginia Commonwealth University received at-large bids to the NCAA tournament. And in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past…

Make Nonsense at Work work for you. We did.

Posted on March 2nd, 2011 by madisonmain

“Nonsense at Work” sounds more like an oxymoron than a legitimate business building strategy. But according to blogger and Executive Business Coach James McIntosh, it could be just what your business needs. McIntosh claims that, “Working hard gets you two things – more work and tired. What does lazy get you? New ways of doing things simpler and faster, and new products. Who invented power steering? A lazy person, of course! In other words, lazy people create efficiencies and stimulate inventions.” Now, at Madison + Main, we’re not necessarily promoting…

Bookmarking Your Favorite Web Images

Posted on July 14th, 2010 by madisonmain

This is not a new topic but we continue encountering sites like FFFFound and Vi.sualize.us in natural search results and elsewhere on an increasingly regular basis. This draws the conclusion that image bookmarking is gaining traction in a much broader web audience through a handful of platforms. Web users across the board love image searching and meme nonsense. We enjoy browsing bookmarking sites for new content, digging through sites like buzzfeed, delicio.us, stumbleupon and “liking” things on Facebook etc… Our options for “collecting” our interests on the web are finally easy…

Top 10 Reasons to Vote @madmain for a Shorty Award

Posted on January 29th, 2010 by madisonmain

“Why should I vote for you?” I guess it’s a legitimate question, but nevertheless I was unprepared for it. Recently, I’ve been asked, “Why should I vote for you for a Shorty Award?” …I don’t know, maybe because we’re friends?Or because we work together?Or because you’re in my Mass Comm. class?Or because I donate a lot of money to charity?Or because, as Willford Brimley said one time, “It’s the right thing to do.” But he was talking about Quaker Oats and I don’t have “Diabeetus.” Yet. Anyway… Here are some…
